Whistler and Blackcomb ski resort is just so big that you need to spend a whole week here! We took the Cathay Pacific Holiday Package which gave quite a good deal for 5 nights stay at the luxurious Westin Spa and Resort, including 4 day ski pass, round-trip air ticket and transfer to-and-from Vancouver.

Snow here is not as predictable as in Japan, say, Hokkaido. I've been here in Jan 2005 without much snow, and therefore the trails were very icy; it even rained on the last day when the trails downhill all turned into rivers! In Feb 2006, the snow was perfect and we had a good time. But the mountains are much grander than those in Japan, and the views are breathtaking on fine days. If you want to take lessons and could meet the schedule, the Ski Esprit Group is a very worth while course since you could follow the instructor for several days on a row and you'll improve fast. It is also reasonably priced, and the group is not too big that you do get enough attention to brush up your skills.
